Founded in 1997, under the name Screech Owl Farm School, we have relocated to Saxapahaw, NC and shortened our name. Farm School is primarily a family home, and secondarily open at specific times throughout the year to offer farm-focused programs to the young at heart.
Farm School programs share with others the joy of knowing a place, the satisfaction of belonging there, and the confidence gained from living in rhythm and relationship with the land and creatures. The joy of life takes root here: in being present to the gifts that surround us, and the quiet magic in the farm and woods nearby.
Year-round offerings focus on practical farm-life skills. Join us for canning, care of animals, soap-making, candle-making, simple games, campfire cooking, tanning, jelly-making, butter churning, cheese-making, and more. The context of all programs, beyond the “doing” is the enjoyment of building capacities, celebrating community, collaborating and connecting.
